Koala, swimming wallaby and a camping "p'tit poussin"

Justine a effectue sa première randonnée de deux jours le weekend dernier. Nous avions choisi de camper sur les bords de la rivière Colo, au nord-ouest de Sydney, après avoir suivi un chemin pendant une heure et demie.

Last weekend was Justine's first overnight walk. We chose a short walk by going to the Colo river on the Bob Turner track.

Alors que j’étais parti devant, Emmanuelle a vu un koala grimper à un arbre : la première fois que nous voyons un koala en randonnant ! Pas de photo, j'avais l'appareil.

The number of cars at the car park made us think that the river shore could be crowded so I went ahead to check it out. While she was walking behind, Emmanuelle spotted a koala climbing a tree. The first time either of us see a koala on a bushwalk! No photo though, I was carrying the camera.

Dimanche matin, un wallaby est apparu sur la plage opposée à notre camp. Sans s’arrêter, il a sauté dans la rivière, a nagé jusqu'à l’autre rive sur laquelle il a sauté avant de disparaitre dans la bush. Il devait être en retard pour son brunch !

On Sunday morning, I could hear the distinct crashing through the bush of a bouncing wallaby. It appeared on the beach opposite our camp spot and without hesitating kept going into the river, swam accross and jump on the shore on our side before disappearing in the bush again. Might have been late for brunch?!
